Basketball Academy | Athletic Performance Program


TPLS Basketball Academy

Basketball skill development is offered by way of the TPLS Basketball Academy. The Academy serves amateur youth and young adults ages 5 through college ages. It offers intense skill programs that teach fundamentals while simultaneously building sound moral character through short daily teaching sessions. We encourage a consistent work-ethic that produces goal-oriented results.

 

Elite Performance Fundamentals Training Camp

The core of the Academy, this program uses a curriculum that is based on 4 different levels of skill development: beginner, intermediate, advanced, and elite. Each athlete is evaluated and placed at one of the particular levels. In each level, the athlete will learn
the specific skills needed to build a foundation of solid fundamentals. Each level builds upon the next, teaching age and skill level appropriate fundamentals. The participants are graded and tested twice per training session to guarantee improvement and encourage consistency.

Specialty Performance Training Camps

These camps will demonstrate a greater emphasis on different aspects of the sport.
The Academy will offer: ballhandling camps, shooting camps, point guard training camps,
post play camps, and scoring instruction camps. Camps vary throughout the year.

 

Team TPLS Basketball Program

Competitive team play is implemented through the AAU and USSSA travel basketball circuit. Teams will be organized according to AAU and USSSA age groups consisting of ages U9 through U19 boys and girls. Two divisions of teams will be fielded when possible: a regional division (plays local in-state events only); and a national division (travels widely for collegiate exposure). If necessary, two teams may be fielded in a division in the same age group. Team offerings will vary from year to year and the typical season runs as follows:

Ages 9-13: October - July
Ages 14-15: February - July
Ages 16-18: February - September

TPLS Athletic Performance

Athletic development includes speed, strength, agility, quickness, and flexibility training. These are the components needed to be a top performer athletically. Our athletic performance program uses a combination of SAQ, strength training, plyometric and isometric training, and a specific focus on core strength and flexibility to build athletes who can excel and stay in the fight to win!
